White Lions' Liberum Leporum a Dobunni

on top of being a Goal in horse colour and lineage, this is my ultimate achievement in awful punning

i shall elaborate (hold your horses its gonna be long .. lol)

you see , being an archaeologist trained in Cirencester (Roman; Corinium Dobunnorum) i know a weirdly large amount of stuff about the Roman history of the area in particular especially because ive dug on sites on the Corinium context and have been visiting the museum for a looong time (coins and pots we've found are in there too which is next level awesome). AND there tends to be animals associated with different areas for different reasons.

for the Iron Age Dobunni tribe who held the area, it was horses, specifically a three tailed horse - similar to the chalk horses - that was stamped onto their coins. thats true for a lot of the south and west of england because of the native pony populations found there.

by the time we get to Roman occupation (which the Dobunni took full advantage of, explaining Cirencester's size and status as being in friendly territory) Corinium was associated with hares, and it has been ever since. mosaics from Cirencester have big centre pieces of hares with little hare motifs around the edges, jewellery of hares is really common, plaster wall decorations, the lot. it's still associated with hares to the point the spring "discover Cirencester" trail was a copy of the Bristol "find Gromit" thing but with each place listed decorating their own huge hare statue (totally irrelevant but my fave is in the kemble airfield bar, he's called Hicarus and he has gold patterns and goose wings).

so there we are, a Dobunni horse, called "Hare"

history
Bunny's breeding was a thank you present from Charlie's cousin, Ink, for handling the transfer of the SWS stock to WLO so fast and easily. Charlie had wanted a dilute Georgian Grande at White Lions for a while, and as well as being a double dilute, Bunny's pedigree is a gift in itself. She was very well loved at White Lions' by the guests from the moment of her arrival and she settled into being a little princess very fast.

personality
Bunny lives right up to her name, and is an energetic - albeit graceful - fireball. Even with all that juice to waste, she's never bored because she'll just make her own entertainment, even if its just haring up and down the pasture for the sake of it... much to the bemusement of Farley and Stat. She's a very sweet and fun mare under her piles of energy and a fair few White Lions' guests have likened her to a very bouncy puppy in the shape of a horse. Everyone is very thankful that her stubborn streak is directed at her work ethic and willpower rather than just not wanting to do anything. Like her dam, she doesn't like being told to do things while training, and would rather someone politely asked her to do it instead thank you very much. She forms strong bonds with only a few handlers, but is on 'speaking terms' with everyone at White Lions, and works best with Charlie's sister Sophie. She comes across as quite naive and a little ditzy due to her antics and the amount of trust she places in her companions and handlers, but is smart and quick-thinking in a pinch.
